Next is a good pair of sewing sheers. These will be used for fabric only. The scissors in the beginning kit will become paper/fabric scissors. For children I recommend the Beginner Sewing Scissors. Adults have several choices of 8″ bent scissors. Fiskars makes a designer series that comes in lots of fun patterns and colors. I like these floral ones and these pink geometric ones. My favorite to use is the 8″ Gingher Dressmaker Shears.
Caution: Good scissors are sharp and should be used with adult supervision. Cheap dull scissors can be more dangerous.
Another great addition is a Rotary Cutter Set with a mat, ruler and 45mm cutter for straight cutting.
A smaller 28mm Rotary Cutter is a great for curves.
For a great next kit with everything you need I recommend the EverSewn Ultimate Sewing Starter Kit .
Schmitz Combination Pack of Needles allows for sewing a variety of projects with varying fabrics. For help on specific needle uses see the Sewing Machine Needle Guide. To keep track of all those needles see Keep Track of Your Needles.

Swedish Tracing Paper can be used to trace paper patterns and is great for children to use and for sewing a mock-up. It does not tear like paper.
Medical examiner paper is also great to trace patterns.
FriXion Clicker Erasable Gel Pens are great for marking on fabric as well as paper. Erase or iron away.
Dritz Superboard is a Cardboard Pattern Cutting Board is perfect to lay on top of your table for pinning patterns to your fabric and cutting with scissors only. (Not for rotary cutting.)
The Twin-Fit Dress Form is an adjustable dress form to fit your body. This can be used for draping, designing and fitting clothing.
A Wooden Doll Stand can be used like a dress form for a doll. Stand the doll in the stand and use to drape.
Cork Fabric can be used to design purses and totes.
