My name is Ana Sullivan. I began my blog, The Lost Apron, because people would ask me for advice on parenting. My first post was It’s Time to Praise Women for Their Jobs as Moms back in 2012. My only qualifications for giving advice is that I have been there and I am proud of who my children have become. I have three grown children and have been blessed with four grandchildren. I have been married for more than 30 years to a dream of a husband.
I have been a working mom, a part-time-work-at-home mom, and a stay-at-home mom. Although I have prefered being the SAHM, I try to write my blog in a way that would encourage all moms to be better moms. I hope to be the mentor mom to the young mom and the friend to the older moms and grandmothers. I now consider myself a stay-at-home grandma.
I believe something has been lost in the way we raise our children and the values we hold. I hope that reading my blog can help us restore some of these values. It’s like finding “the lost apron”.
I have been teaching children to sew for many years. My blog has evolved to include many sewing projects and techniques aimed at the beginner or mom who wants to teach her children to sew.
Now that I am a grandma, I hope to include more about my grandma days.
