The Fat Quarter Shop has been one of my sponsors for a long time. If you have never visited their online shop, enter HERE. One thing I love about this shop is that they display their fabrics in groups or packs. This makes it easy to see what fabrics go together.
This Coffee Koozie can be made from scraps or using a charm pack. Make it for yourself or make as gifts with a cup and a coffee gift card inside.
Download the pattern here:
Be sure to print "Actual size" not "Fit" under the print size options. The pattern should measure about 11" across the widest points.
Then watch the easy tutorial on YouTube here:
I purchased the Wishes Mini Charm Pack with the gift certificate provided from The Fat Quarter. I found a hair tie and button from my stash.
The instructions call for 12 pieces in a light/dark pattern…..but of course we do what we feel like.
These are then sewn into pairs. Every other one is ironed up/down. This helps to lock the seams together when sewing the pairs together.
Once I cut the batting and the backing, the "quilt" assembly was super easy using the pattern instructions. And I am not a quilter. The quilting and assembly was done in one easy step.
With the quilt top done, the pattern is placed on top. There are alignment guides so that the quilt piece ends up centered on the Coffee Koozie.
From there it was just light making a pillow. Watch the Coffee Koozie video for complete instructions. While you are there you can see the many other tutorial videos for other projects or techniques.
