The ladies at 5 minutes for Mom are hosting this blog party. I am honored to be a guest at the party.
Let me introduce myself:
My name is Ana Sullivan. I began my blog The Lost Apron last June because I kept having people ask me for advise on parenting. Moms need encouragment. Moms need help from potty training to picking a college. My only qualifications for giving advise is that I have been there and I am proud of who my children have become. I have a daughter in high school, a son in college, and another daughter that is a college graduate who is working and living on her own. I have been married for almost 27 years to a dream of a husband.
What I have learned during all these years as a mom, is that one of the most important keys to being a good parent is being there for them. This means keeping in constant contact and really knowing who your children are.
I have been a working mom, a part-time-work-at-home mom, and a stay-at-home mom. Although I have prefered being the SAHM, I have known SAHMs that have not been great parents and have known working moms that have a great pulse on their children. I try to write my blog in a way that would encourage all moms to be better moms. I hope to be the mentor mom to the young mom and the friend to the older moms and grandmothers.
I believe something has been lost in the way we raise our children and the values we hold. I hope that reading my blog can help us restore some of these values. It's like finding "the lost apron".
Besides offering encouragement on the parenting journey, I like to share my ideas, recipes and sewing tips.
This summer I will be hosting a follow-along Summer Sewing Camp.
This fall I will be posting 31 Days of Raising Teens.
