Gingham Pin Cushion

This is a quick and easy way to give a pin cushion a makeover.  Use an existing pin cushion and give it a new look.  I chose pink gingham, but you can choose any fabric that you want. - The Lost Apron

This is a quick and easy way to give a pin cushion a makeover.  Use an existing pin cushion and give it a new look.  I chose pink gingham, but you can choose any fabric that you want.

Materials needed:

 

Begin with a pin cushion and fabric. - The Lost Apron

Gently remove the green patch.  The thread will follow. - The Lost Apron

 Wrap the fabric around the pin cushion on the bias. Pull tight. Pin around the bottom and side as shown. - The Lost Apron

Pull the fabric off the pin cushion.  Stitch a seam using the pins as a guide.  Trim seam. - The Lost Apron

Turn fabric right-side-out.  Stuff pin cushion into new cover. - The Lost Apron

Cinch up the bottom of the pin cushion.  Hand sew to gather. - The Lost Apron

Trim excess slightly.  Sew a loose running stitch around the top of the pin cushion. - The Lost Apron
