These cookies were made by my daughter for a recent football Sunday gathering. These would be perfect for Super Bowl Sunday.
If you're not one to go through the hassle of rolling, cutting, baking and icing cookies---WAIT. These are actually easier than they look.
You may choose a cookie mix or prepared dough. You can also use your favorite rolled cookie recipe and refrigerate.
Roll out dough onto floured surface to 1/8-1/4" thickness.
Cut dough using the Football Cookie Cutter. Bake at directed.
Make a recipe of Powdered Sugar Frosting: Add enough milk to 2 cups powdered sugar for easy spreading. Add 1/4 teaspoon vanilla and mix.
Put small amount of icing into a Wilton disposable decorating bag. A ziploc freezer bag works well too. Set aside for the football stripes later.
Color the remaining icing with Wilton Brown Paste . Use enough to get desired color. This is concentrated so it does not take much. If using liquid drop food coloring, use the instructions on the box for the right ratio of color drops.
Ice football cookies with the brown icing. Let dry completely.
Retrieve saved white icing. If icing has hardened a bit, massage with your hands to warm up. Cut off a small tip off the point of the icing bag. There is no need to attach a decorating tip. Pipe white stripes as shown with the white icing. If the stripe looks too thin, cut a larger hole. Let dry before stacking cookies.
Let the games begin.
